An independent decision point between systems.
The proposed HubCop Governance Engine would qualify evidence from other systems against configured milestone conditions before permitting progression, using the same standard for humans and AI.
Two published U.S. patent applications
Published applications, not granted patents. Publication does not mean a patent will issue or define the scope of any claims.
“We already do this.” A fair challenge.
These are valuable capabilities, and HubCop is designed to work alongside them. Each can enforce parts of evidence-based control, usually within its own process or system of record.
- CRM
- Records customer activity and stage changes that people or automations enter.
- ERP three-way match
- Matches order, receipt and invoice within a financial process.
- Process mining
- Analyzes event logs to reveal how work flowed and where it stalled.
- Workflow and orchestration
- Routes tasks and can enforce configured conditions and approvals.
- Monitoring and AI guardrails
- Observe activity, enforce constraints or limit what an agent may do.
- HubCop’s proposed focus
- One independent decision point across systems: a milestone advances only when evidence from sources other than the actor qualifies against a defined recipe, with the same rule for people and AI agents and a recorded reason for every decision.
Where the proposed difference would lie
- The decision sits outside the system and the actor doing the work.
- Evidence is drawn from multiple separate sources and checked for identity, origin and timing.
- People and AI agents meet the same standard; no actor certifies its own completion.
- Every pass, hold or escalation records which evidence was used and why.
Some mature implementations may already combine several of these. A pilot would map your current controls against each point and measure where an independent decision point changes the outcome.
Category comparison, not a statement about any specific product.
What the architecture must establish
- Authorized source access and trustworthy provenance.
- Independence from the actor claiming completion, not merely a different application name.
- A configured Evidence Recipe with identity, context and timing checks.
- An enforceable handoff, with recorded reasons and a controlled human-review path.
The gate cannot guarantee that a source record is correct. Its value depends on source integrity, policy quality and the actual integration boundary. Publication does not establish patent validity, grant, exclusivity or coverage of every proposed feature.
